I made myself beautiful today
Put on some lipstick
And the green sweater
You brought me last Christmas.
I left the house really happy
For I was going to see you
Walk with you in the city
For the first time in months.
We were out for a proper date
One week before the holidays
When I was going away.

I left the house feeling happy
Only to hear you complain
That I ruined your day
You didn't remember about any date
And told me you were going to spend
Your last free day at home, to sleep.

I made myself beautiful today
Put on some lipstick
And your favorite sweater,
That for some reason
I put it away,
And came back feeling nothing
For you didn't want me to stay.
