And where
do you go
When you
want to hide your body
Let it have
its rest
Even for a
moment only?
Do you hide
it in the old attick
Of your
childhood’s house?
Do you go
hide it in that old swinging chair
In the
courtyard
Where
flowers and grass grew so long over it
That you
can dive in completely?
Do you go
under the bed
Where the
space stayed the same
But you can
no longer shrink so much
So that it
can cover your thought completely?
Do you go
in the closet
And take
all of your clothes off
Together
with all the rest
So that you
can feel the wood better
Feel like
you become part of it
And you can
close the door
Like you
would just lift another arm?
You have
the key at that door
That your
mother said you could never lock completely
You have
the key at that closet too
You have
the key at your own house
You can
always lock yourself up if you want to
You don’t
live inside the furniture
Or in the
spaces your family built
You live inside your own.
So where do you go hide your body
Let it have
its rest
Even for a
moment only?
Will you go
back to seek solace in places
That don’t
belong to you
Or will you
go inside yourself
To the
places your own heart built?
Go hide
inside your body
And you can
have more than a moment only
And you can
have more than hiding
Because
when you have yourself
You will
forever rest your body
Just like you rest your heart.
